Rick Brown earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Texas State University in 1979. After receiving his degree, he worked as an appraiser with Southwestern Appraisal Company, who contracted their services to various appraisal districts in Texas. Rick was the project manager for the first ever county-wide appraisal done by the Bexar Appraisal District in 1982-1983. From 1984-1987 Rick was a Senior Property Tax Consultant for Veltman & Associates and Property Tax Services in San Antonio, Texas. For the next eleven years he was with DuCharme, McMillen & Associates working first as a Senior Property Tax Consultant, and eventually was Vice-President of Property Tax for the all of the U.S. and Canada. During his tenure with DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, he was responsible for all real estate and personal property related activity at the Senior Corporate Management level and was an integral part of the tremendous growth in the property tax division during that time. Prior to joining International Appraisal Company, Rick was sole proprietor of R.A. Brown & Associates for three years, performing property tax consulting and assessment reviews for clients throughout the Southeast and Southwest U.S. He currently oversees all aspects of property tax administration, assessment reviews and consulting activity for International Appraisal Company in the Southern Region of the U.S. Rick has twenty-seven years of experience in the property tax profession and is currently a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, Georgia Association of Assessing Officers, Texas Association of Assessing Officers and is a Senior Property Tax Consultant in Texas.
